For example; by pushing the brake button with your thumb and providing a slight pull on the lead you give your dog short orders or bring him back to you. The braking system also has a permanent stop function which allows you to fix the flexi lead at a certain length.

According to the manufacturer’s specifications the leads are designed to be used for dog’s weighing:

Small: 5m cord (16ft) for dogs weighing up to 12KG (26Ibs)

Medium: 5m cord (16ft) for dogs weighing up to 20KG (44Ibs)

For your pets safety it is strongly recommended not to attach a retractable/extendable dog lead to your dog’s collar around their neck. This is because serious injury can occur if for example your dog is running and is suddenly stopped by the lead’s brake, which can whiplash their neck in the opposite direction. It is advised to use a harness when using a retractable/extendable lead.
