Mikki Anti Pull Harness – Black
One of our dog’s favourite time of the day is when we announce that it is time for “WALKIES!!!”. To do this a high quality harness is essential to keep your dog fully under control. Please remember to always use a harness if you intend to use an extendable or retractable dog lead to avoid serious injury to your dog’s neck.
One of the few stressful things that can occur when you take your dog out is if they pull or the moments you do not feel fully in control of your dog. Mikki’s anti pull harness has been designed to effectively stop your dog from pulling whilst on their walk.
The Mikki Anti-Pull Harness will prevent your dog from pulling and enable you to keep control the kind way. Perfect for short nose breeds, those with delicate facial features or nervous dogs, as the harness is not fitted to the face. This revolutionary product comes complete with an adjustable reflective collar, ‘easy-fit’ snap lock and Neoprene tubing to allow you strong but gentle control.
The medium anti pull dog harness adjusts to fit neck sizes between 30cm to 42cm (12″ – 16″) for breeds such as Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, Springer Spaniel, Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Please measure your dog before ordering.
Before you begin, fit the harness according to the instructions so it is comfortable and secure.
Start by walking in a low distraction area such as your home or garden and when your dog begins to pull ahead, stop walking immediately. This causes the harness to tighten and exerts gentle pressure to counteract your dog’s tendency to pull or lunge.
Encourage your dog to return to your side and then continue walking forwards. Praise your dog for walking nicely and continue training for 10-15 minutes. Train regularly to maximise improvements.
Once your dog is walking reliably without pulling, clip the lead onto both D-rings and continue your walk.
If your dog still pulls or lunges repeat the earlier stages.
When your dog can walk without pulling, remove the stop lines and walk with the lead attached to both D-rings.
Continue with the training programme until your dog can walk correctly with a collar and lead only. Remember – Rome wasn’t built in a day, loose lead walking take lots of time and repetitions for your dog to learn and practice the control required to match your pace which maybe slower than their natural gait.
