This hard pin slicker brush, manufactured by Mikki, has angled, hard metal pins to penetrate through thick coats and remove dead hair, knots, tangles, matts, dirt, and debris resulting in a well groomed finish. The pins are mounted on an air cushion which helps to reduce excessive brushing force while enhancing grooming action. The brush’s head is also flexible to minimise discomfort to your pet while grooming.

The pins help to both remove excess hair and de-mat the coat in both the topcoat and the undercoat. The brush helps to removes knots and tangles and reduces moulting if used regularly. It also helps to distribute the coat’s natural oils, resulting in a healthy shiny coat.

The slicker brushes measure approximately:

Small: 20cm x 9cm x 4cm (8″ x 3.5″ x 1.5″)

Large: 21cm x 11cm x 5cm (8.5″ x 4.5″ x 2″)

The hard pin slicker brush is perfect for both professional groomers and regular pet owners. There is an ergonomic thumb and hand grip which allows for comfort and flexibility during grooming.

The manufacturer recommends the following instructions for use:

1) Use gentle stroking actions to allow the slicker pins to ease through matts and tangles

2) This will remove any dead hair from both the topcoat and the undercoat

3) Be gentle and careful at first until you are familiar with the action

4) Remove dead hair from the slicker every few strokes so you get the best grooming results

Slickers are not suitable for ‘corded’ coats (Puli, Komodor etc). Use the slicker as a weekly maintenance item after removing mass moulted hair.
