Hedgehog Slicker Brush – Blue
Some pets love it and others loathe it but grooming your pet is vital to helping them to remain both healthy and clean. It is also an exceptionally good bonding activity. To aid this a long lasting, safe and sturdy slicker brush is essential. With this slicker brush your pet can enjoy/tolerate hours of quality grooming.
This hedgehog slicker brush has been designed to promote a healthy, shiny coat for your pet. The head and body of the brush is made of strong plastic to ensure that the brush is long lasting and solid. It has an ergonomic handle to aid grip, comfort and flexibility to the groomer.
The brush undertakes two jobs at once; first the long plastic pins gently detangle fur and remove loose hair from within the undercoat. The second shorter plastic pins which have balled ends to keep your pet comfortable through grooming. They smooth the top coat and gather loose and dead hair resulting in a neat and glossy coat.
The hedgehog slicker pin brush heads measure approximately:
Small: 6.5cm x 4.5cm (2.5″ x 2″)
Medium: 8.5cm x 5cm (3.5″ x 2″)
Large: 9.5cm x 7cm (4″ x 3″)
The manufacturer recommends the following instructions for use:
To use the slicker, slowly and gently brush the hair in the direction of the fur growth. The long plastic pins penetrate deep into the coat, gently detangling fur and removing loose hairs. The soft plastic pins have balled ends to ensure your dog is kept comfortable while being groomed. The shorter bristles smooth the top coat, gathering loose and dead hair to leave a neat and glossy coat. To ensure your dog has an enjoyable grooming session, start gently. Pause or end end the grooming session if your dog becomes agitated.
Grooming is a wonderful way to bond with your dog, but dogs that are new to grooming should be introduced to it slowly. Begin grooming sessions when your dog is relaxed, if possible, after they have exercised. Use tools gently and avoid tugging on the skin or on knots or mats. Give your dog plenty of reassurance throughout the grooming session. Pause or end the grooming session if your dog becomes agitated or shows signs of stress. Keep grooming sessions brief to begin with, and increase the length of the sessions as your dog becomes used to grooming.
